pressive stresses on the surface which is made by heating flo 
at glass to nearly softening point and then cooling it down rapi
 
dly by air. 

During the instant cooling process, the glass exterior is solidifi

ed due to rapid cooling while the interior of glass is cooled do

wn relatively slowly. 

This process will improve the glass exterior compressive stre

ss and interior tensile stress resistance which can improve th

e overall mechanical strength of glass by gemination and res

ult in good thermal stability.
