Product Description

Curved steel, also known as curved tempered glass, is an important subcategory of tempered glass. Its core meaning is: using ordinary flat glass (or float glass) as the base material, during the tempering process, a curved surface is formed simultaneously. Eventually, it becomes a safety glass that combines the "high strength, high safety, and high heat resistance" of tempered glass with the "curved surface adaptability".

Manufacturing Process

Preparation work: First, cut the ordinary flat glass into the required size, edge-polish it, drill holes, and then thoroughly clean it. 
2. Heating and softening: Place the glass in a dedicated heating furnace and slowly heat it to a temperature close to the melting point, approximately 600 degrees Celsius. At this point, the glass will become as pliable as a soft candy. 
3. Curved Forming: This is the most crucial step. By using gravity or mechanical pressure, the softened glass is pressed onto a pre-prepared mold with a specific curvature, thereby forming a curved shape. 
4. Quenching and tempering: While the glass is still in a bent shape and at a high temperature, immediately blow it uniformly from both sides with high-pressure cold air to rapidly cool it down. This process creates a strong compressive stress on the surface of the glass, significantly enhancing its strength and safety. This process is called tempering.
